A 33-year-old Russian national on a visit to Goa drowned in the Arabian Sea while his woman partner was rescued by locals, police reported on Monday.

The tragic incident occurred Sunday morning at Morjim beach in North Goa. Dimitri Lvov and his partner, Irina Rudemko, ventured into the sea around 5 am, where they encountered strong undercurrents.

Local residents managed to save Rudemko, but Lvov drowned. His body was later recovered by lifeguards, according to police sources.
