The Airports Authority of India has commenced a tree plantation drive at Kolkata airport, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Dum Dum MP Prof Saugata Roy inaugurated the event, highlighting the Ministry of Civil Aviation's commitment to environmental sustainability.

Attendees included key officials such as the director of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, who voiced strong support for the initiative. 'This project is a reflection of our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility,' stated the airport director.

With a goal of planting 1,000 trees around NSCBI Airport, the initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability, improve air quality, and support local ecosystems. 'By planting 1,000 trees, we are contributing tangibly to environmental sustainability and enriching our community's surroundings,' commented Prof Saugata Roy.
