The blaze occurred on Thursday night at Hillside Endarasha Primary in Nyeri county, according to police spokesperson Resila Onyango. “We are investigating the cause and will take necessary action,” Onyango stated.

Boarding schools in Kenya frequently experience fires, some of which are attributed to student unrest. A notable incident in 2017 saw 10 high school students perish in a school fire in Nairobi.
