The UK's competition watchdog has initiated an investigation into the ticket sales process for next year's highly-anticipated Oasis reunion concerts.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced its probe into Ticketmaster, a unit of Live Nation Entertainment, focusing on the controversial 'dynamic pricing' model. This pricing mechanism causes ticket prices to fluctuate rapidly based on current market demand.
Numerous fans of the iconic 1990s Britpop band expressed frustration after enduring lengthy online queues, only to find ticket prices had more than doubled, due to the dynamic pricing system.
