Urgent Visa Appointments Offered in Bangladesh

Indian Visa Application Centres (IVAC) in Bangladesh are now providing limited slots for urgent medical and student visas. Available in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Khulna, these services also cater to students and workers needing visas for third-country travel. Normal operations to resume later.

Indian Visa Application Centres in Bangladesh's major cities have commenced offering limited appointment slots for urgent medical and student visas for Bangladeshi nationals.

The services are accessible in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Khulna. According to a statement from the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Bangladesh, these five centers are also providing limited slots for urgent cases involving Bangladeshi students and workers who need to travel to third countries for which they already have visa appointments with foreign embassies in India.

The IVAC statement noted that these services would remain limited until normal operations resume at a later date.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has seen massive protests led by students against a controversial quota system in government jobs, which began in mid-July and culminated in the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government on August 5. Over 600 lives have been lost since the start of the protests.

Currently, an interim government headed by 84-year-old Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is in place.
