The Madras High Court on Saturday granted time to the organisers of the Formula 4 Street Car Race to obtain FIA approval until 8 PM today, amid ongoing delays from Friday's rain.

Justices R Suresh Kumar and P B Balaji issued the order following a request from Racing Promotion Private Ltd., who highlighted the need for alterations to a corner of the track, as per FIA guidelines, expected to be completed by 6 PM.

The petitioner revealed an investment of Rs 200 crore and the sale of 5000 tickets. Interim orders by Acting Chief Justice D Krishnakumar and Justice P B Balaji had previously sanctioned the race, with directives to avoid traffic disruption and secure FIA certification by noon on the event day.
