Renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, 88, continues to live a vibrant life in Los Angeles, balancing his love for cricket, spicy food, and friendships. Despite his many international honors, Mehta reveals he greatly misses the Hapus mangoes from India, which are challenging to import due to customs regulations.

"I miss mangoes. Hapus, alphonso. They are not allowed to be sent so easily. Sometimes my friends try. But the customs keep them until they are overripe," said Mehta. While he stays busy conducting orchestras worldwide, he finds time to watch cricket, often at inconvenient hours due to time zone differences.

On a recent trip to India, Mehta conducted the Symphony Orchestra of India at the NCPA. He also visited his childhood home in Mumbai's Cuffe Parade, recollecting fond memories. Mehta's career has seen him honored globally, including Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan in India, and he remains connected to his roots in numerous ways.
