Ukraine Unveils Long-Range Weapon Amid Escalating Tensions

Ukraine has developed a new long-range missile and drone system called Palianytsia, capable of targeting deep into Russia. Ukraine has introduced a new long-range weapon named Palianytsia that can strike deep within Russian territory. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the homegrown missile and drone system, designed out of urgent necessity amid the war's escalating violence, will provide 'answers' to Russian bombings.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the existence of the Palianytsia, a weapon named after a type of Ukrainian bread, and declared it 'a new class' of armament. Unveiled on Ukraine's 33rd independence anniversary, it has already been used to target a Russian military installation in occupied territory.

The Palianytsia is engineered to overcome restrictions on the use of Western long-range missiles in Russia, with a hinted range of up to 700 kilometers. Ukrainian officials assert the weapon will bolster their defense capability and enable strikes deep into Russia. Meanwhile, Ukraine's burgeoning private sector continues to amplify the nation's military capacities by producing cost-effective and innovative weaponry.
