Kolkata Unites for Justice in Tragic Doctor Case

On Saturday, a rally in Kolkata saw app-based cab drivers and Bengali film industry members unite to demand justice for a tragic incident involving a woman doctor at a state-run hospital.
Around 300 drivers participated, suspending their rides for two hours, while the film industry organized a separate protest in Tollygunge. Messages were displayed on dashboards and red flags adorned vehicles.
Nakul Sau, vice president of the app cab state unit, emphasized the industry's demand for a secure environment for passengers and called for strict punishment for the perpetrators.
This sentiment was echoed by several actors who participated in a sit-in. Concurrently, Jadavpur University alumni marched, pressing for a prompt investigation and trial following the recovery of the doctor's body on August 9. Police have arrested a suspect in the case.
