A record-breaking number of over 5.12 lakh pilgrims completed the holy pilgrimage to the Amarnath shrine this year, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The journey spanned 52 days, from June 29 to August 19, and concluded successfully.

Located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the south Kashmir Himalayas, the Amarnath pilgrimage saw its highest turnout in 12 years. Shah credited the seamless experience to the efforts of security personnel, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, and various voluntary organizations.

Congratulating everyone involved, Shah said, "All of you have made a unique contribution in making the pilgrimage of the pilgrims safe and smooth. May Baba keep his blessings on everyone. Jai Baba Barfani!" The previous year saw over 4.5 lakh devotees visiting the sacred shrine.
