Taapsee Pannu, acclaimed for her roles in films like 'Pink' and 'Thappad', has shed light on the distinct movie-watching habits between South Indian and Hindi cinema audiences. The 'Dunki' star, familiar with both industries, noted a 'religious' dedication towards movies in the South that sets it apart.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Pannu remarked, "In the South, watching movies is almost a ritual. People are passionate movie lovers; they go to cinemas every weekend regardless of the film's size or success. Hindi audiences, however, often wait and prefer watching films on OTT platforms if not in theaters immediately."

Pannu also dispelled the belief that South Indian films are uniformly more successful. She explained, "We only hear about the South films that survive beyond the initial weeks. There are plenty of failures too, just like in Hindi cinema, where not all films are hits." Known for her versatility, Pannu started her career with 'Jhummandi Naadam' in Telugu and gained Bollywood fame with 'Baby' in 2015. She continues her journey with the recent release of 'Khel Khel Mein', featuring a star-studded cast.
