The Kerala government has postponed the release of the Justice K Hema Committee report, which examines issues faced by women in the Malayalam film industry. This decision follows an actress' petition to the High Court opposing the publication.
The report's release, initially scheduled for July 24, was already delayed due to legal challenges. The High Court had directed the government to release the report by August 13 but now awaits a new hearing on the actress' plea.
The committee was established after the 2017 actress assault case involving actor Dileep. Although the report was completed in 2019, it remains unpublished, possibly due to its sensitive content.
