In a glittering ceremony, the 70th National Film Awards unveiled the illustrious winners for the year 2022. Leading the feature film category, 'Aattam' by Aanand Ekarshi clinched the Best Film prize, with Sooraj R Barjatya earning Best Direction for 'Uunchai'.

Providing wholesome entertainment, 'Kantara' by Rishab Shetty was lauded as the Best Popular Film, while Pramod Kumar marked a notable debut with 'Fouja', winning the Best Debut Film of a Director category. In acting honors, Rishabh Shetty secured Best Actor for 'Kantara' and Nithya Menen shared Best Actress with Manasi Parekh for their exemplary performances in 'Thiruchitrambhalam' and 'Kutch Express', respectively.

The awards also recognized 'Kutch Express' for promoting social, national, and environmental values, and numerous other films in categories ranging from screenplay to sound design, highlighting the diverse talent in contemporary Indian cinema.
