Celebrating Excellence: Major Wins at the 70th National Film Awards

Neena Gupta, Vishal Bhardwaj, and the team of 'Kantara' have expressed their heartfelt gratitude after securing major honors at the 70th National Film Awards on Friday.

Gupta, who previously won the Best Supporting Actress award in 1994 for her role in 'Woh Chhokri,' clinched another trophy in the same category for her performance in the 2022 Hindi film 'Uunchai.' The film also earned Sooraj Barjatya his first award for Best Director. Gupta expressed disbelief and joy, reminiscing about her earlier wins and emphasizing the importance of hard work in her career.

Vishal Bhardwaj, bagging his ninth National Film Award, won Best Music Director for his short film 'Fursat' in the non-feature film category. Bhardwaj expressed deep happiness and called it the ultimate validation of his work. Meanwhile, 'Kantara' producers Vijay Kirgandur and Chaluve Gowda celebrated their film's recognition, highlighting its cultural significance. The Kannada film won Best Actor for Rishabh Shetty, Best Kannada Film, and Popular Film awards.
