In a special event at the Australian Parliament in Canberra, renowned Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji emphasized the potential of cinema to foster strong cultural bonds between Australia and India, akin to the way cricket does. Mukerji expressed her hopes to work with Hugh Jackman and also suggested a collaborative romantic drama featuring Nicole Kidman and Shah Rukh Khan.

While attending the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Mukerji unveiled a commemorative stamp honoring her late father-in-law and legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra. This momentous occasion was part of a precursor event held on August 13.

"Just as cricket connects us, I hope the co-production treaty between our countries fosters a similar bond in our films. Now is the perfect time to tell our shared stories," said Mukerji. She also highlighted the significant impact of Australian creative talents like Baz Luhrmann on Indian cinema.
