Police have charged Ayyan Parvez, the owner of two horses, with animal neglect leading to their deaths. The case, filed on Tuesday under section 325 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, follows severe criticisms from animal rights activists.

A complaint lodged by PETA India's Dr. Kiran Ahuja highlighted the tragic end of the horses, who were shifted to a government-run veterinary hospital after intervention but did not survive due to prolonged neglect.

Activists captured heartbreaking photos of the injured horses on August 1, prompting a rapid response. Dr. Ahuja emphasized that reporting animal cruelty is crucial and proposed stricter penalties to the central government.
