Shankar Mahadevan, Shabana Azmi, Leander Paes Receive Honorary Doctorates from Techno India University

Shankar Mahadevan, Shabana Azmi, and Leander Paes were honored with honorary doctorates by Techno India University in Kolkata. In a prestigious ceremony, notable personalities including musician Shankar Mahadevan, actress Shabana Azmi, and former Indian tennis player Leander Paes were awarded honorary doctorates by Techno India University (TIU) in Kolkata.

Expressing his gratitude, Shankar Mahadevan remarked, ''This is a very special day for me. I am completely grateful and honored to receive this Doctorate from Techno India, a very prestigious organization.'' Mahadevan added that the recognition brings with it a responsibility to leverage music for the betterment of humanity and to address various causes. He also captivated the audience by performing his song from the film 'Lakshya.'

Earlier, Shabana Azmi expressed her overwhelming happiness on Instagram, sharing her joy of receiving the honorary doctorate in the presence of Former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. Her post elicited congratulatory responses from actor-director Farhan Akhtar and actress Shibani Dandekar, amongst others.
