India is brimming with pride as Neeraj Chopra clinched a silver medal in the men's javelin final at the Paris Olympics. Social media platforms, from Instagram to X, overflowed with congratulatory messages for Chopra's remarkable achievement at the world's greatest sports event. Members of the Indian film industry also sent their best wishes.

Actor Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram Stories, writing, 'Season best performance. You always make us proud, brother Neeraj Chopra.' Actor R Madhavan not only congratulated Neeraj but also lauded Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who clinched the gold medal.

'What a wonderful match. Congratulations on the Olympic record, Arshad Nadeem, and the silver medal, Neeraj Chopra. The sport won today,' Madhavan wrote on Instagram. Actor Rakul Preet Singh also penned a congratulatory message for Chopra, noting, 'Woohoo! Neeraj, you have done it again! Congratulations on securing your second Olympic medal! India beams with pride.'

Chopra's best throw, 89.45 meters, came on his second attempt, but he struggled with four consecutive fouls, preventing him from winning gold. Although his qualification-round performance was strong, with a throw of 89.34 meters, he couldn't surpass his season best in the final. Each of his other attempts saw him crossing the line, resulting in them being invalidated.

Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won gold with a 92.97-meter throw, setting a new Olympic record. Following the match, Chopra told ANI, 'We all feel happy whenever we win a medal for the country. It's time to improve the game now. We will sit, discuss, and enhance our performance.' He acknowledged the tough competition and praised Nadeem, saying, 'Today was Arshad's day. I gave my best but need to address some things.'

Chopra expressed confidence in India's future Olympic prospects: 'India played well at the Paris Olympics. Our national anthem may not have been played today, but it will be heard in the future.'
