Daniel Selznick, youngest son of legendary producers David O. Selznick and Irene Mayer Selznick, has died at age 88. Veteran Hollywood producer Daniel Selznick has died at the age of 88. He was the youngest son of legendary film producer David O. Selznick and theatrical producer Irene Mayer Selznick. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel passed away due to natural causes in California.

Born on May 18, 1936, in Los Angeles, Daniel Selznick pursued his education at prestigious institutions including Harvard University, the University of Geneva, and Brandeis University before entering the entertainment industry. His father David O. Selznick produced iconic films like 'Gone with the Wind,' 'Duel in the Sun,' and 'King Kong,' while his mother Irene Mayer Selznick received a Tony Award nomination for the 1955 play 'The Chalk Garden.'

Daniel produced the Peabody award-winning documentary 'The Making of a Legend: Gone with the Wind' along with his elder brother Jeffrey Selznick. He also produced TV mini-series such as 'Blood Feud,' 'Hoover vs. the Kennedys: The Second Civil War,' 'Night Drive,' and 'Reagan's Way: Pathway to the Presidency,' the latter of which he also directed. Beyond film and television, Daniel made contributions as the director of the Louis B. Mayer Foundation and had success in theater, presenting projects such as 'The Man with the Perfect Wife.' According to the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), Daniel was married three times and left no immediate survivors.
