Zubin Mehta Returns to Conduct Symphony Orchestra of India for Autumn 2024 Season

The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), India's only full-time professional orchestra, will see the return of the legendary conductor Zubin Mehta for its Autumn 2024 Season, as announced by the SOI. Known globally, Mehta will conduct four significant concerts featuring works by Johann Strauss II and Richard Strauss.

The first two concerts will showcase Johann Strauss II's enchanting Viennese compositions such as 'Overture to Die Fledermaus' and 'Emperor Waltz', performed with soprano soloist Chen Reiss. The following two concerts will highlight masterpieces by Richard Strauss with noted soprano Krassimira Stoyanova lending her voice to 'Four Last Songs' in its India premiere.

This return marks a testament to SOI's growing reputation. Under the leadership of NCPA Chairman Khushroo N. Suntook and Music Director Marat Bisengaliev, the SOI has consistently delivered world-class performances.
