RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has claimed that after 1857, the British systematically undermined the faith Indians had in their traditions and ancestors.

Bhagwat clarified the difference between blind faith and true faith, noting that some customs and practices might need revision. He made these remarks at a book launch event hosted by author G B Deglurkar.

The RSS Chief also elaborated on India's unique practice of idol worship, highlighting the scientific and emotional aspects behind it, and how it facilitates connection with the formless.
