Actor Helen Hunt recently opened up about injuring her knee just before filming started for the 1996 American disaster thriller 'Twister', according to People.

Sharing the anecdote ahead of the standalone sequel 'Twisters', Hunt recounted the challenges she faced. 'A week or two before, I remember sitting in Oklahoma with ice on my knee and calling my agent, wondering if I could pull this off,' she said. 'So, for me, it was just like 'Run anyway' because I had no other choice.'

Discussing the physically demanding nature of the film, Hunt added, 'It's all for the best that there wasn't the technology to do it all on your laptop. Instead, they just pummeled us, and it looks amazing.'

She highlighted the authenticity of their performances, contrasting it with modern green-screen acting. 'A lot of what we reacted to was really happening,' the Oscar and four-time Emmy winner explained.

Director Jan de Bont echoed her sentiments, noting that he 'filmed the actors at the same time, the same moment' as the action. 'They don't react to, 'And now fall down ...' It doesn't work. This was all real,' he said.

'Twister' became a box office hit, earning over $494 million globally. Directed by Jan de Bont and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the film was written by the late Michael Crichton. 'Twisters' premieres in theatres on July 19, according to People. (ANI)
