Antony Starr, acclaimed for his portrayal of Homelander in 'The Boys' season 4, revealed insights about his audition process, admitting he was initially unaware of the series' universe. Based on the New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, 'The Boys' has been developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. Other executive producers include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver.

Starr described how he was too busy with other projects to take the audition seriously, eventually submitting a tape out of frustration due to persistent requests from his team. To his surprise, his performance was well-received. Reflecting on the comic, he noted, 'I was like, how the hell are we going to put this on TV? This is obscene!'

He emphasized the show's unique approach as an antidote to 'superhero fatigue,' where villains are heroes and vice versa. 'The Boys,' produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios along with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures, is currently streaming its fourth season on Amazon Prime Video.
