The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has given its nod to Tata Sons' ambitious plan to construct a 'museum of temples' in Ayodhya, with an investment of Rs 650 crore. Tourism Minister Jaivir Singh disclosed that the tourism department will offer the company land for the international-level museum under a 90-year lease for a nominal fee of Re 1.
'Tata Sons had proposed the project through the Central government, pledging to build the museum using its corporate social responsibility fund,' Singh stated during a press conference following the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Envisioned to exhibit the rich history and architecture of renowned temples across India, the museum project had earlier been presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed strong support for the initiative. Additionally, Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for further developmental work in the temple town.
