What's New in Extraordinary Season 2

Season 2 is set to premiere on Wednesday, March 6, available exclusively on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ internationally. This season continues the story of Jen, portrayed by Máiréad Tyers, and her adventures, including dealing with her shapeshifting boyfriend's forgotten family. The season promises more laughter, drama, and superpowers, with an eight-episode run mirroring the first season's format.

Plot Twists of Extraordinary Season 2

Season 2 picks up with a cliffhanger from the previous finale, diving into Jen's journey of self-discovery and her struggle with personal and romantic challenges. Alongside Jen, viewers will see the return of familiar faces like Sofia Oxenham as Carrie and Luke Rollason as the ex-cat now-boyfriend, Jizzlord. The season will also introduce new characters, adding depth to the already rich narrative.

Emma Moran, the series creator, shared insights into the creative process, highlighting the ease of plotting Season 2 thanks to the established characters and storyline. In an interview with Collider, Moran teased a musical episode that promises to be a season highlight, showcasing the diverse talents of the cast.

"Is that a spoiler? That's not a spoiler. Yeah, we do [in Season 2]. "I mean, it's not like a full musical Buffy [the Vampire Slayer] episode, but there'll be some musical theater from, I think you can guess the character that's gonna do it, as well."

during a discussion with Tyers and Sofia Oxenham in Pasadena, Emma Moran shared insights on developing the new season, citing the suspenseful ending of the previous season made the process straightforward.

“I think because we set up quite a juicy cliffhanger, it was actually quite easy to [plot this season],” “It sort of felt like in a way you sort of watch your soap and you’re like, ‘Oh, this could happen and that could happen,’ right?

The official synopsis for Extraordinary Season 2 reads:

"Season two picks up where season one spectacularly left off, following Jen on her journey as she enrolls as a client at the power clinic. Jen soon discovers that the process of finding her power isn’t as easy as she hoped, and things in the rest of her life aren’t smooth sailing either. Ex-cat, now-boyfriend Jizzlord has had an unexpected revelation about his past, and Kash and Carrie are attempting to be totally mature and dignified about their break-up, which is not easy when they’re still living under the same roof. It seems that Jen and the gang are dealing with new levels of adulting and chaos that none of them are prepared for."

The returning cast includes Máiréad Tyers, Sofia Oxenham, Bilal Hasna, and Luke Rollason, among others.
