In the ever-expanding landscape of Korean dramas, JTBC is set to introduce viewers to a heartwarming tale of love and resilience with its new Saturday-Sunday drama, 'Welcome to Samdal-ri.' Scheduled to premiere on December 2nd at 10:30 pm, this series, penned by the talented Kwon Hye-joo and directed by Cha Young-hoon, promises to be a breath of fresh air in the world of romance dramas.

The narrative unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of Hallasan Mountain, revolving around the characters 'Yongpil' and 'Samdal.' Born from the stream at the foot of Hallasan, Samdal's dreams of becoming a dragon are abruptly challenged as life takes an unexpected turn. As 'Samdal' loses everything, including his dreams, he finds solace in his hometown, Samdal-ri.

The recently released Welcome to Samdal-ri main poster captures the essence of the drama, featuring Ji Chang-wook as Cho Yong-pil and Shin Hye-sun as Jo Sam-dal. The image portrays a serene moment on the beach in Samdal-ri, where the blue sea stretches endlessly. The chemistry between the two leads radiates warmth, inviting viewers to a world where the sun's gentle rays and the soothing breeze offer respite.

Embedded within the storyline is the wisdom of Jeju Island's 'Haenyeo Samchun.' Their teaching, "Don't be greedy today, just stay for as long as you can," becomes a core theme in 'Welcome to Samdal-ri.' This philosophy, encapsulated in the poster's tagline, "The moment we begin to catch our breath," sets the tone for a narrative that explores the importance of finding peace in the midst of life's challenges.

'Samdal,' who left Samdal-ri dreaming of becoming a dragon, faces the trials of life in Seoul. Pursuing a career as a photographer, he rises to the top but experiences a severe fall triggered by an unexpected incident. The storyline takes an emotional turn as Samdal returns to Samdal-ri, a place he never intended to revisit. There, 'Yongpil,' his destined partner, aims to become a stream where Samdal, exhausted and wounded, can find rest.

The production team shared their vision, stating, "If you have been so busy this year with no time to catch your breath, I hope you will have time to catch your breath and recharge for a while with Yongpil and Samdal of ‘Welcome to Samdal-ri’ at the end of this year." Emphasizing their commitment to visual aesthetics, they added, "We are putting special effort into capturing the tranquility, friendliness, and warmth that words bring."

'Welcome to Samdal-ri' marks the first collaboration between director Cha Young-hoon and writer Kwon Hye-joo, known for their work on 'Confession Couple' and 'Hi Bye, Mama!.' The drama is set to follow the popular 'Strong Woman Gangnam Soon' at the 10:30 pm time slot on JTBC.
