The show Never Have I Ever has won millions of hearts worldwide, with the captivating performance of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, the series lead, being one of the major attractions. Recently, the release date for the fourth and final season of the drama has been announced, with it set to premiere on June 8th on Netflix. In addition, the streaming service has released a trailer that teases new romantic developments and adventures for Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and her high school friends.

Never Have I Ever Season 4 what to expect

In Never Have I Ever Season 4 viewers can expect to see lead character Devi Vishwakarma navigate her final year of high school. The storyline will feature a new distraction in Devi's life, with the arrival of Ethan, played by Michael Cimino, after the departure of Paxton to college.

Season 3 of the series ended on a cliffhanger, with Devi redeeming a "One Free Boink" coupon from her friend and on-and-off crush Ben. Throughout the series, Devi has struggled to choose between Ben and Paxton, but with Paxton graduating and the pair breaking up, Devi appears to be turning to Ben. However, the teaser for the new season shows her kissing someone else, leaving viewers unsure about their future.

Devi's relationship with her mother seems to be improving, and other characters, including Kamala, Fabiola, Addison, and Eleanor, are also in happy places. Never Have I Ever Season 4 will likely tie up any loose ends regarding potential relationship drama, but it will mainly focus on Devi and her friends' senior year, as they look to the future and reflect on their growth. Will Devi still choose to stay close to home after being offered a spot at a school in Colorado?

Co-creators Kaling and Fisher revealed in March 2022 that the fourth season of the teen drama will be its last season.

"We've just been renewed for a fourth and final season, which we are absolutely thrilled about," the statement reads. "We can't wait to reveal all the steamy romance and hilarious adventures we have in store for you. Thanks to all our fans for your support – especially you #Bevi and #Daxtonstans. We love you!"

Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television, revealed in a statement before filming that Never Have I Ever would not continue beyond its fourth season, citing the natural conclusion of high school as a reason for ending the series.

“High school isn’t, in fact, forever. Four seasons of Never Have I Ever is truly exciting and a little bittersweet because, as a loyal fan, I’d love Devi’s journey to go on forever,” Erin said in a statement.

 “But just like high school, all great things must come to an end...We can’t wait to experience all of the messiness, the LOLs and the tears that will surely unfold in Devi’s senior year,” she added.

Never Have I Ever Season 4 cast

In the recently released teaser trailer for Never Have I Ever Season 4, it was revealed which cast members will be returning for the final series. The main cast includes Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, Darren Barnet as Paxton, Ramona Young as Eleanor, Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola, Megan Suri as Aneesa, Poorna Jagannathan as Nalini, Richa Moorjani as Kamala, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Mr. K, and Niecy Nash as Dr. Ryan. Additionally, the trailer introduced Michael Cimino as Ethan, a new character who will be entering Devi's life in the upcoming season.

Never Have I Ever Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on June 8, 2023.
