On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi strongly endorsed the demands of UPPSC aspirants protesting in Prayagraj. Calling the state's handling of exams 'non-transparent,' Gandhi expressed disapproval of decoupling exam dates for Provincial Civil Services, Review Officer, and Assistant Review Officer posts.
As protests continued into their fourth day, UPPSC postponed the RO and ARO exams, agreeing to return the PCS preliminary exams to a single day. Priyanka Gandhi also criticized aggressive police tactics against demonstrators, emphasizing that transparent and corruption-free exams are essential rights.
Congress leaders accuse the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government of failing to maintain a fair examination process, underscoring the charged atmosphere amid ongoing corruption concerns. The UPPSC's decision to form a committee to ensure transparency in the RO and ARO exams reflects mounting pressure from protestors.
