The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has announced new guidelines for admitting students in the 'Children with Special Needs' (CWSN) category into vacant seats at private schools. This applies to entry-level classes such as nursery, KG, and Class 1.
On Tuesday, the DoE conducted a computerized draw of lots for online applications submitted by CWSN students. Those selected will be informed of their school placements via message within 24 hours. According to the DoE, successful applicants must present themselves at their designated schools by November 22, equipped with the necessary documents, including proof of CWSN status.
In an effort to support parents, the DoE has instructed private schools to set up help desks for guidance through the admission process. Schools are mandated not to charge tuition fees and must provide free books, uniforms, and stationery to CWSN students. An introductory session for parents is also required.
