A high-level panel established by the Centre is considering reforms to streamline the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) by aiming to reduce the outsourcing of staff and exam centers, conduct maximum entrance exams online, and limit the number of attempts for major entrance exams.
The panel, led by former ISRO chief R Radhakrishnan, is ready to submit its final report to the Supreme Court. It emphasizes ensuring the sanctity of exams by minimizing offline tests where feasible, opting for hybrid models, and enhancing security protocols.
Among the challenges addressed by the panel are alleged irregularities in NEET and the compromised integrity of the UGC-NET. The committee comprises experts from various fields, including academia and industry, to recommend robust measures for fair examination processes.
