The Karnataka Examinations Authority is planning to introduce Aadhaar-linked registration for students seeking professional course seats next year. This move is intended to eliminate the widespread issue of seat blocking, according to official sources.

KEA Executive Director H Prasanna revealed that the e-Governance department supports the proposal, which will now be sent to the Government of India for approval. The new registration system aims to authenticate student identities and ensure exam information is sent to students' phones.

The decision follows the discovery of a seat-blocking scam in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test quota. Anomalies such as fake IP addresses and incorrect contact information were found, indicating possible collusion between third parties and college managements, alongside student involvement.
