Education Ministry Ousts NIOS Chairperson Amid Controversy
Saroj Sharma has been removed as Chairperson of the National Institute of Open Schooling following allegations linked to the suicide of her driver. The driver accused Sharma of harassment and caste discrimination in a suicide note. She has been repatriated to her parent department with immediate effect.

Saroj Sharma, Chairperson of the National Institute of Open Schooling, has been removed from her post amid a controversy surrounding the suicide of her driver. The driver left a note alleging harassment and caste discrimination at the hands of Sharma.
The Ministry of Education has announced her immediate repatriation to her original department, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, following approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Pankaj Arora, Chairperson of the National Council of Teacher Education, has been appointed to oversee Sharma's former responsibilities for the next six months, as per official orders.
