The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship announced a partnership with Meta to introduce an AI Assistant for the Skill India Mission. This collaboration will also see the establishment of five centers of excellence in virtual and mixed reality.

Leveraging Meta's open-source Llama model, an AI-powered chatbot will be created to improve learner interactions on the Skill India Digital Portal. Concurrently, centers at National Skill Training Institutes in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jodhpur, Chennai, and Kanpur will offer cutting-edge VR technology to enhance skill training.

The initiative, led by Jayant Chaudhary, aims to streamline information, improve learning outcomes, and increase access to digital resources. The chatbot will provide 24/7 assistance in multiple languages, with capabilities spanning course exploration, simulation of skills, and job listings.
