A tragic accident marred the preparations for a Navratri event at a private school in Gujarat's Mehsana district. A 15-year-old student, Arya Rajsinh, was electrocuted while setting up lights at St Joseph's School in Vijapur city, according to the police.

Inspector V R Chavda of Vijapur police station reported that Arya died on the spot after contacting a live wire. Two other students involved in the setup were also injured and have been hospitalized.

In response to the incident, the police have detained five individuals, including the school's principal, and are in the process of registering a First Information Report for alleged negligence.
