Karnataka Launches 'Nipuna Karnataka' to Skill its Youth in IT

With an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore, the program will collaborate with top IT companies and use CSR funds to support training programs and infrastructure development.

The Karnataka government has unveiled the 'Nipuna Karnataka' initiative, aimed at harnessing the potential of the state's youth by supplying them with industry-relevant skills.
Minister for Electronics and IT/BT, Priyank Kharge, emphasized that 'Nipuna Karnataka' represents a commitment to empowering young people with the skills needed to excel in the IT industry. By aligning training programs with industry demands and fostering strong public-private partnerships, the state aims to become a global IT leader.
The initiative has a budget of Rs 300 crore and will be implemented with the help of Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KEONICS) and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM). Leading IT firms such as Infosys, Wipro, and TCS will collaborate on curriculum development, training delivery, internships, and placements. CSR funds from IT companies will also support training programs and infrastructure development.
