A tragic incident occurred at IIT-Bhubaneswar when a 23-year-old female student allegedly fell from the fifth floor of the administrative building, according to police reports on Wednesday.

Authorities recovered the body of Kritika Raj, a third-year B.Tech student from Delhi, from the campus late Tuesday night. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

Witnesses and security personnel found her immediately after hearing the noise from the fall. Despite prompt medical attention at the institute's medical center, the student was pronounced dead. An investigation is now underway, and the body has been sent for postmortem at Khurda district headquarters hospital.
