Union Minister Pushes for Tamil Language Research Centre at DU

Union minister L Murugan met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to propose the creation of a new Tamil language and literature department and research centre at Delhi University. Accompanied by the Delhi Tamil Sangam, Murugan also recommended new teaching positions to facilitate Tamil studies nationwide.

Union Minister L Murugan met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday with a request for the establishment of a new department and research centre dedicated to the Tamil language at Delhi University (DU).

The Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting discussed the proposal during his meeting with Dhankhar, who is also the chancellor of DU. Murugan was accompanied by members of the Delhi Tamil Sangam.

Murugan advocated for the creation of new academic positions in various colleges and departments to facilitate the teaching of Tamil language and literature, aiming to make the ancient language accessible to students across the country.
