In a bid to enhance the quality of life for hostel residents, AIIMS-Delhi has unveiled a new initiative aimed at boosting faculty engagement within the hostel system.

The decision, influenced by residents' feedback, involves appointing two faculty members as 'hostel mentors' for each block. These mentors will conduct weekly visits, be available around the clock, and organize community events to foster cultural diversity.

AIIMS-Delhi Director Dr. M Srinivas emphasized the importance of supporting students and residents, highlighting the initiative's role in creating a caring environment. Additionally, mentors will work with hotel superintendents to address infrastructural issues and connect residents needing extra support with the Student Wellness Centre for psychological assistance.
