Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Friday stated he would gather information regarding the clash between the UPSC Civil Services Examination and the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Recruitment exam on September 22.
During a press briefing, he remarked that the state had confirmed the PSI exam date before the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced theirs, though this would be taken into account. He added, "We will review it. We had already announced the date. If there is a possibility or more representations from candidates, we can consider postponing the PSI exam."
Parameshwara noted that exam dates can't always be postponed due to scheduling conflicts. He recalled that previous recruitment processes went smoothly, despite recent issues like the PSI scam causing delays. He mentioned the two-year-old PSI recruitment scam, which led to the arrest of an Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Amrit Paul and others.
