University of Southampton to Establish Campus in India under NEP 2020

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized education as a crucial means for enhancing international engagement. Announcing the University of Southampton's new campus in India, he highlighted the NEP 2020's role in positioning India as a global education hub, fostering international cooperation, and preparing Indian youth for the global workforce.

India is leveraging education as a critical tool to strengthen its international engagement, according to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Speaking at an event to mark the University of Southampton's initiative to establish a campus in India under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he emphasized the policy's role in elevating India to a global educational hub.

Jaishankar also highlighted how this collaboration could enrich both nations, through educational exchanges and the Young Professional Scheme, aiming to prepare Indian youth for a globally competitive landscape.
