Youth Parliament Empowers Rajasthan Students with Legislative Experience

A Youth Parliament programme was held in the Rajasthan Assembly, involving 181 students from 41 schools who participated as public representatives. They conducted a mock legislative session, addressing issues such as education, safety, and mental health. The event aimed to promote understanding of parliamentary procedures and democracy among the youth.

The Rajasthan Assembly hosted a mock legislative session on Saturday, known as the 'Youth Parliament', inviting students from 41 schools. Participants stepped into the roles of public representatives, including the chief minister and Speaker.

Organized by the Rajasthan branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, 181 students engaged in this unique educational program. They simulated legislative proceedings, raised questions, and debated issues like school safety, tuition fees, and food adulteration.

Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani emphasized the importance of educating youth about legislative processes. The programme aimed to foster an understanding of parliamentary democracy and promote active, informed citizenship among the young participants.
