China aims to improve its income distribution system and maintain social stability, according to a communique from the Communist Party's third plenum, released Thursday by state media outlet Xinhua News Agency.

The communique also stated that China will steadfastly develop its public economy while simultaneously supporting, encouraging, and guiding the growth of the non-public economy.

The closed-door meeting, presided over by Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the party's central committee, concluded on Thursday.
