Congress Criticizes BJP MLA's Career Advice to Students

The Congress party criticized BJP MLA Pannalal Shakya's advice to students to start 'motorcycle puncture repair shops' instead of pursuing degrees, likening it to Prime Minister Modi's 'pakoranomics.' The Congress party on Tuesday took a sharp jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following a Madhya Pradesh MLA's unconventional career advice to students. BJP MLA Pannalal Shakya suggested students should open 'motorcycle puncture repair shops' instead of pursuing college degrees, a comment that has sparked widespread criticism.

Shakya made these remarks at an event in Guna, where he inaugurated a 'PM College of Excellence.' The MLA argued that college degrees are futile and that students would be better off earning a livelihood through manual labor.

Congress leaders, including Jairam Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor, were quick to condemn Shakya's remarks. They drew parallels to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's so-called 'pakoranomics,' which advocates for small-scale self-employment. Ramesh noted the BJP's consistent economic messaging, while Tharoor questioned the BJP's vision for India's future and tagged the Congress' 'X' account.
