Plans are underway to organize competitions in line with the manual within this year. Minister Sivankutty highlighted various academic and non-academic programs being rolled out by the department for the current academic year. One such program, titled 'Healthy Kids,' aims to ensure the physical and mental well-being of primary school children through sports and games.

The program, designed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), has already received curriculum committee approval, and two books have been created for its implementation. Additionally, Rs 121.21 crore-worth of projects under the 'inclusive education' program for differently-abled children will be executed. The minister also announced the annual school sports meet from October 18 to 22 in Ernakulam district, with plans to model it after the Olympics.
