The Odisha unit of the Congress on Friday intensified their agitation in Bhubaneswar, alleging serious irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG 2024 examination. The protesters demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, accusing him of failing to prevent a question paper leak.

Led by state Congress president Sarat Pattanayak, the protest march commenced from Congress Bhawan, culminating at Master Canteen Square. The demonstrators vociferously raised slogans condemning the BJP-led NDA government for allegedly jeopardizing the futures of millions of students.

Addressing the media, Pattanayak charged, ''The BJP-led central government is playing with the future of lakhs of students... it has come to notice that the question paper was sold at Rs 32 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.'' Former OPCC president Prasad Harichandan also remarked, ''Question paper leaks have occurred 70 times during the NDA rule. The Congress stands by the students of the country and promises to intensify its protest in the days to come.''
