Tragedy in the Red Sea: Tourist Submarine Sinks Near Hurghada
A tourist submarine named 'SINDBAD' sank near Hurghada, Egypt, claiming the lives of six foreigners. The vessel carried 45 Russian tourists. While most were rescued, several remain unaccounted for. The incident underscores the Red Sea's importance to Egypt's tourism industry, a critical economic sector.

Six foreigners tragically lost their lives on Thursday when a tourist submarine sank off Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Hurghada. The local governor's office confirmed the incident, while the nationalities of the victims remain undisclosed.
The submarine 'SINDBAD' had 45 Russian tourists in addition to crew members on board, as reported by the Russian consulate in Hurghada. Although the consulate stated that four people had died, the nationalities were not specified, adding uncertainty to the situation.
Initial reports suggest that most individuals on board were rescued and transported back to their hotels and hospitals in Hurghada. However, the fate of several tourists is still under investigation. This incident, following a tourist boat capsize in November, highlights the Red Sea's pivotal role in Egypt's tourism-driven economy.
