The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department is preparing to enforce a stringent statewide crackdown on illegal e-rickshaws and autos from April 1 through April 30. This initiative follows directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who emphasized the importance of strict regulation and enforcement during a recent law and order review meeting.

Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh has issued clear instructions to district magistrates, police commissioners, and senior police officials aimed at ensuring robust enforcement of the rules. The campaign will target all districts within Uttar Pradesh, including the capital, Lucknow, with a firm focus on verifying tempo and e-rickshaw drivers.

As part of the operation, urgent measures are to be taken against the operation of vehicles by minors, and tenant verifications are to be conducted. The drive, designed to enhance safety and compliance, will require weekly updates and is expected to feature regular monitoring to maintain accountability and effectiveness.
