A 23-year-old woman sustained injuries after jumping from a moving train in an attempt to escape from an alleged assault, according to the Government Railway Police. The incident occurred on March 22 evening as she traveled alone in the ladies coach of an MMTS train heading to Medchal from Secunderabad station.
The woman recounted to the police that after two other female passengers disembarked at Alwal station, a man, approximately 25 years old, approached her and demanded sexual favors. Upon her refusal, he allegedly attempted to force himself on her, prompting her to jump from the train.
Suffering from injuries to her head, chin, right hand, and waist, she was discovered by passersby and taken to a government hospital. The woman indicated she could identify the assailant if encountered again. Authorities registered a case against sections 75 and 131 of the BNS, and investigations are underway.
