The Vande Bharat sleeper train has successfully reached a peak speed of 180 km per hour in multiple trials conducted over the past three days on a 40-km stretch in Rajasthan, confirmed the Railway Ministry on Friday.
The trials, aimed at evaluating the train's high-speed capabilities, are set to continue throughout January. This world-class rail service, featuring ultra-comfortable berths, automatic doors, and onboard WiFi, promises a superior travel experience for rail commuters across India.
To demonstrate the stability and comfort of high-speed travel, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video showing a glass of water remaining steady on a moving Vande Bharat sleeper train. Once the trials conclude, the train will undergo a final evaluation by the Railway Safety Commissioner before being introduced to major routes like Delhi-Mumbai and Howrah-Chennai.
