Hyundai Motor India Reports Slight Sales Dip Amid Record Domestic Performance
Hyundai Motor India Ltd reported a slight decline in total sales in December 2024, but achieved record yearly domestic sales. Despite industry challenges, the company sustained its momentum with strong domestic sales, particularly in SUVs, showing customer trust in Hyundai as a mobility solutions provider.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) experienced a 2.4% decrease in total sales for December 2024, with units tallying at 55,078 compared to 56,450 units the previous year. However, HMIL celebrated its highest-ever domestic sales for the year, reaching 6,05,433 units in 2024.
Domestic sales in December dipped by 1.3% to 42,208 units from 42,750 units in the prior year, while exports saw a 6.1% fall to 12,870 units from 13,700 units in December 2023. Despite overall sales being slightly down at 7,64,119 units compared to 7,65,786 units in 2023, the year reflected customer loyalty.
Tarun Garg, HMIL's Whole-time Director and COO, highlighted the brand's sustained sales momentum amid challenges, attributing success to high domestic SUV contributions and reaffirming Hyundai as a favored provider of smart mobility solutions.
